Animal protein sources for livestock productivity are very necessary FKH USK trained High School Students

Banda Aceh – In order to meet the food needs of animals as a source of animal protein, livestock productivity really needs to be considered. Animal health is one of the factors that determines livestock production and reproductivity in addition to feed, genetics, environment and maintenance management.  A total of 102 SMA Negeri 11 students visited the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FKH) Syiah Kuala University (USK) on August 10 2023.

This visit was received directly by the Deputy Dean of Student Affairs, FKH USK, Drh, Ismail, M.Si accompanied by the Head of Student Affairs Subdivision, Ichsan, SE and Drh. Dian Masyitha, MP.
Supervising teacher, Hartati, said that the visit was aimed at introducing students and learning directly to the histology laboratory belonging to FKH USK.

"This visit was about what and how the profession of a veterinarian who graduated from FKH USK was and introduced this campus to the students. This event then ended with a visit to several laboratories, one of which was the histology laboratory," said Hartati.
M. Rayhan Arifin, one of the students who took part in this educational visit, admitted that he was happy with this kind of learning method. According to him, this presents a new atmosphere for us students because we can learn new things outside of school.

"It turns out that veterinary school is not only about being a veterinarian but also being an animal scientist, researcher, and being involved in the pet food industry." said Rayhan.
On another occasion, the Principal of SMA Negeri 11 Banda Aceh, Nuriati, supported the visit program. He said, the school provides flexible space for innovation and creativity for the teacher council and students. 
"This visit is one way to bridge what we learn in the classroom with its application in the real world. All of these experiences will help our children plan their future, whether it is in the field of veterinary medicine or other fields of interest. " said Nuriati.
